IX.14.1 Pompeii. May 2005. Entrance.  According to Della Corte, at the rear of this shop were two small and rustic rooms, and a deep well. When found the well was empty of earth but was not explored because of the “mofeta”, or gas. See Notizie degli Scavi, 1911, (p.351), for excavations of September 1911.
