On the left are the steps to upper floor, and doorway into triclinium on the west side of the entrance corridor or fauces.
In the centre, with the remains of painted plaster wall decoration is the west wall of the rear room of II.3.5.
Originally this rear room would have been connected by doorway to the north-east corner of the atrium.
