VII.1.41 Pompeii. December 2006. Rear south wall.
“On a wall of the workshop itself, Marcus Nonius Campanus, a soldier of the eighth praetorian cohort, wrote his name, also letting us know that he served in the century (Roman Army Unit) of M. Caesius Blando, whose name occurs twice on the columns of the peristyle of the house. It has been supposed that both of them, being in the retinue of some emperor in Pompeii, ended up settling in this city”.
