According to Jashemski, steps at each entrance (VI.17.32 and 36) led to an atrium: immediately at the rear of these there was a large peristyle garden.
This was enclosed by a portico on 4 sides.
In the middle of the garden was a pool with a fountain, with little steps leading into the pool, but this was no longer in existence when Breton wrote.

Now in Naples Archaeological Museum. Inventory number 9231.
This was found in VI Ins Occ. The exact location is unclear and several possible locations have been put forward.

Masseria Irace ?
This painting, together with two others, was “found under the land of Masseria Irace”.
By July 1760, the excavators had returned to the Irace property and removed a set of three panel paintings.
One was the myth of Phryxus and Helle, another was a Satyr discovering a Hermaphrodite or Nymph, and the third was the Three Graces.
From a nearby colonnaded garden (VII.6.3), came the marble statue of Diana.

The west decorated wall can be seen in the top left, it had a black zoccolo.
According to PPP, the middle zone of the wall was yellow.

According to PPP, the zoccolo/plinth was red and in the central panel was a swan flying towards the left towards another panel with a flowering plant.
The middle zone of the wall was black, and in a narrow compartment, at the side of the window, a fountain or base of a painted candelabra can be seen.

According to PPP, the east wall had a red panelled zoccolo, in the central panel was a painted plate/medallion with a painted candelabra above it.
The middle zone of the wall would have been black.
